What is a Milestone?
Milestones are extra bonuses that can be earned on top of your base pay. You can see which Milestones are in effect and track your progress toward earning them in the "Milestones" section of your Courier App.

If you do not see any Milestones under this section then unfortunately there are no Milestones offered during that time.

How does a Milestone work?
Milestones are earned by meeting the criteria listed below. Depending on your market, the criteria may differ. If you meet all of the Milestone criteria you will automatically receive the bonus. If you do not meet the Milestone criteria then you will not earn the bonus.

1. Orders. Qualified orders are based on the time the order was accepted.

2. Session Time. You will need to be logged online for the specified amount of time during the Milestone period. It's always best to sign online before the Milestone starts to avoid missing it by seconds/minutes! 
  • ie: "We'll bonus you $5 for being online in Seattle for at least 1 hour between 10am-11:30am and completing at least 1 order ACCEPTED during that time on Monday, Jan 21
  • Example of a SUCCESSFUL session time: Logged online at 10:20am and stayed online until 2:00pm. You were online for a total of 1 hour and 10 minutes during the milestone period (10:20am-11:30am)
  • Example of an UNSUCCESSFUL session time: Logged online at 10:31am and stayed online until 11:30am. You were online for a total of 59 minutes until the milestone ended at 11:30am. You did not qualify for the Milestone bonus because you missed it by one minute. 

3. Vehicle Type. You must be set to the appropriate vehicle type during the Milestone period. If the Milestone description says "CAR" then your vehicle type must be set to car to earn it.
  • ie: "We'll bonus you $2 for every 3 assignments in a CAR in Manhattan between 9am-2pm on Sunday, Jan. 20"

4. Zip Codes. The orders must be accepted at the merchant's zip code to qualify.  If your market is running a zip code Milestone, the zip codes will be listed at the end of the description of the Milestone.
  • ​ie: "We'll bonus you $2 for every assignment in Los Angeles between 5pm-10pm on Monday, Jan. 21 - Sunday, Jan. 27; Eligible Merchant Zip Codes: 90046"
  • Helpful Tip:  You can find the address of the merchant on the top of the acceptance screen. Take the merchant's address and use Google Maps to determine the merchant's zip code.



After plugging in the merchant's address into Google Maps, you'll be able to find the merchant's zip code which is 90007. This order did not count towards the Milestone because the order did not fall under the appropriate zip code of 90046 during the Milestone period. 



5. Region: Always ensure you are set to the correct service region in the Courier App of the Milestone you'd like to participate in. When switching between regions, make sure to log yourself out after you've switched and then log yourself back in. Doing this will allow your account to be properly enrolled in the Milestone of the service region you are in.

Milestone Description: "Well bonus you $10 for every 3 assignments in Manhattan between 5pm-10pm on Sunday, Jan. 27"

How do I find out if an order qualified towards a Milestone?
1. Open your courier app
2. In your order history you'll see a timestamp next to each order. This is the timestamp of order acceptance, which is what we use to determine whether you qualified for a Milestone. See the photo below for an example.
3. If the timestamp is outside of the Milestone window then the order did not count towards the Milestone.



How do Milestones pay out?
If you have met all the criteria that is needed to earn the Milestone then the payout can take up to two hours to appear in your app. If you did not receive the Milestone after a few hours then this means you did not meet the criteria to earn it.

*For Cash App users, please note that the Milestone payout will be sent separately to the Cash App. It could be combined with a tip or another adjustment

Are there different types of Milestones?
Yes! Ongoing vs. One Day Milestones, Stackable vs. Non-Stackable Milestones

Ongoing - If the Milestone is ongoing and does not end until a specific date, you will not see the payout until after the Milestone ends. An easy way to tell if a Milestone is ongoing is by looking to see if there is a date range in the name of the Milestone. Ongoing Milestones do not pay out until after the Milestone period ends. 
  • ie: Manhattan ZIP CODE Lunch Stackable Milestone: Jan. 14 - Jan. 18
  • The date range at the end of the title indicates that this Milestone is ongoing and does not end until Jan. 18.
  • Since the Milestone ends on Jan. 18, you will not receive the payout until then
  • Ongoing Milestones will appear under "Recently Earned" in your Courier App


Daily Milestone: You will see one date listed in the title of the Milestone which indicates it is a daily Milestone. If you have met all the criteria and earned the Milestone, then it can take up to 2 hours for the payout to appear in your App.
  • ie: Los Angeles Dinner Milestone: Jan. 18th
  • This Milestone is only offered on Jan. 18th 

Stackable Milestone: A Milestone that can be earned multiple times during a Milestone period.
  • ie: Manhattan ZIP CODE Lunch Stackable Milestone: Jan. 14 - Jan. 18
  • The title contains the word "stackable"
  • The description contains the word "every"
  • Ongoing from Jan. 14 - Jan 18

A Stackable Milestone can also be tied to only  one day and doesn't have to be across multiple days.
  • ie: Manhattan CARS Dinner Stackable Milestone: Jan. 27
  • Offered only on Jan. 27

Non-Stackable Milestone: A Milestone that can only be earned once during the Milestone period. If you do not see the word "stackable" in the title then the Milestone can only be earned once.
  • ie: Portland Lunch Milestone: Jan. 17
  • Does NOT contain the word "stackable"
  • Daily Milestone on Jan. 17

New Courier Milestones

New Courier Milestones are available in selected markets. If your market has one available, you'll receive a text message and email once your account has been activated. All details about the New Courier Milestone can be found in the activation text and email.



How do I find the date my account was activated on?

Check your inbox for an email with the subject "[Caviar] Congrats, your courier account is now active!". The date and time the activation email was sent on is your activation date. You may also find this time stamp in the first text message that was sent to you notifying your account has been activated (for those who have SMS text notifications enabled). The Milestone counter starts from the time your account was activated and will expire within a certain amount of days (as indicated in the Milestone description). 

New Courier Milestone: "Earn a $30 bonus for completing 3 assignments between 5pm-10pm within 3 days of your account activation date"
Type of Milestone: Non-stackable

Account Activated on: 1/26/2019 at 4:41pm PST
Expiration Date: 1/29/2019 at 4:41pm PST
Criteria to look for:
  • Complete 3 orders accepted between 5pm-10pm
  • This Milestone will expire on 1/29/2019 at 4:41pm (add 3 days to your activation date). Any orders completed after the expiration date will not count towards the Milestone.

Greater Philadelphia
Milestone Name: Greater Philadelphia New Courier Milestone 
Milestone Description: "Earn an extra $20 bonus for completing 5 assignments your first Friday after your activation date"
Type of Milestone: Ongoing, Non-stackable
Criteria to look for:
  • Complete 5 orders accepted on your first Friday after your activation date
  • ie: Account Activation happened on 1/24/2019 at 3:30pm
  • Expiration date is the first Friday after your activation date which is on 1/25/2019 at 3:30pm. Any orders accepted after the expiration date will not count towards the Milestone. 

Los Angeles
Milestone Name: Los Angeles Dinner Stackable Milestone: Jan. 27
Milestone Description: "We'll bonus you $12 for every 3 assignments in Los Angeles between 5pm-9pm on Sunday, Jan 27
Type of Milestone: Daily, Stackable
